Sweet and Spicy Meatballs (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meatballs

01 - 1 lb. ground pork
02 - 1 lb. ground beef
03 - 2 large eggs, lightly beaten
04 - 3 large garlic cloves, minced
05 - 1/4 cup grated onion
06 - 1/4 cup plain Panko breadcrumbs
07 - 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
08 - Kosher salt and pepper

→ Sauce

09 - 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
10 - 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
11 - 1/2 cup ketchup
12 - 1/4 cup honey
13 - 2 Tbsp. white wine vinegar
14 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
15 - 1 tsp. kosher salt
16 - 1 tsp. ground black pepper
17 - 1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
18 - 2 Tbsp. green onion, sliced
19 - 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds

# Instructions:

01 - Line large baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
02 - In large bowl, combine all meatball ingredients. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
03 - Form into 1½ inch meatballs (about 35) and place on lined sheet in single layer. For appetizer size, make 1-inch balls (about 50).
04 - Position oven rack in upper third and broil meatballs 6-7 minutes, flipping halfway. They should be browned outside but still raw inside.
05 - In mixing bowl, combine all sauce ingredients except green onions and sesame seeds.
06 - Transfer meatballs to crockpot. Pour sauce over meatballs, tossing to coat evenly.
07 - Cook on low for 3 hours, mixing halfway through.
08 - Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

# Notes:

01 - Grate onion using box grater with large holes
02 - Can be made ahead and stored separately
03 - Reduce red pepper flakes to 1/4 tsp for less heat
