Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 baking pan.

In prepared baking pan, mix together diced potatoes, shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, minced garlic, and chopped onion.

Add mayonnaise to potato mixture and stir until everything is evenly coated.

Bake in preheated oven for about 1½ hours, until potatoes are tender and top is golden brown.
